Micaeley Gibson is an independent Casting Director, currently affiliated with Barrett Casting. Known for her calm presence and an energy that instantly puts people at ease, Micaeley turns audition rooms into creative playgrounds rather than high-pressure zones. Micaeley kicked off her career in London, spending 10 years casting in-house for leading advertising agencies. For the last 26 years, she's been rocking the Australian scene, working across film, television, and commercials. She spent the last 15 years at Anousha Zarkesh Casting, accumulating over 58 credits across film, television and commercials.
In her session Micaeley will share insights into the casting process, while simulating a mock audition environment. This gives actors the experience of a real audition. Micaeley will provide feedback on your performance, giving you tips and tricks that can help you nail your next audition and answer any burning questions you may have about the industry, casting and performance.
She has won multiple AACTA and CGA Awards for projects like 2022 AACTA Winner Mystery Road: Origins. 2022-2024 projects include The Stranger (with Joel Egerton), New Boy (With Cate Blanchett), The Australian Office, Class of 07, new Shane Warne Biopic series ‘Warnie’, The Office Australia, Thou Shalt Not Steal, Ladies in Black, and many many more.
She works across all genres including political satire, drama, comedy, telemovies, documentary series and film. Micaeley’s earlier work includes: ‘The End’, ‘Preppers’, ‘Firebite’, ‘Rake’, ‘Total Control Season 2’, ‘High Ground’.
