Finish off 2022 WITH MASSIVE MOMENTUM IN YOUR ACTING CAREER!

Meet twelve of Australia's most Influential Casting Directors and Directors all in one week!

This incredible and challenging week delivers what no other course in Australia can.

As well as putting your auditioning skills to the test, learning audition technique, on set acting techniques, script analysis, self tape processes and industry knowledge from the masters, actors have the opportunity to network and connect with Australia’s top Industry Professionals.

Note: While this intensive is a learning experience, it is not for the faint of heart! Depending on scene allocations, you may have to perform up to twelve scenes during the week. We suggest actors only apply if they are ready for the challenge.

What does this intensive offer:

  • In this intensive, you will be able to work with a number of different casting directors and directors all of who have different requirements and personal taste for performance.

  • Casting Director Sessions are a masterclass in auditioning. Teaching you do’s and don’t’s, self tape and in-room audition technique, and insight into their own unique process. The intensive allows you to compare and contrast, in real time, different industry professional’s preferences and styles.

  • Director Sessions involve working on the floor with each director in a Multi-Camera set-up. You will workshop your scenes in a scene study format, employing techniques that these directors use on set in your preparation and performance.

  • Agent Sessions also involve scenework, where the agent will give you feedback on your performance. Agent Sessions involve an extensive Q&A about the business of acting, how that particular agent works, and the opportunity to ask burning questions about representation: How to get an agent, how to work with your agent and how to be front and centre in their mind when they are putting you up for roles.

  • The intensive functions to really throw you in the deep-end when it comes to performance. It allows you to see where your strengths and capabilities lie as you’re made to perform several times over 6 days with a number of different assigned scenes and requirements.

  • Finally, this intensive will allow you to interact with 19 other actors from all over Australia, creating relationships and finding an opportunity to see your co-workers in action.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

"The NAI gave me a wealth of knowledge with unmatchable connections from over 12 industry professionals, including casting directors, directors and agents. The course, which at times consisted of 14 hour days - mirrored the expectations of being on set in a high-stakes environment. I felt guided and supported throughout the intensive due to the dedicated team at TAFTA who ensured I was comfortable both on and off screen. I would recommend this course to actors who are ready to take that next step in their careers and challenge themselves."

~ Daniela

I  completed the NAI course in Sydney in June 2022. It was the best thing I have ever done! Being terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. The course pushes you outside your comfort zone resulting in you growing your craft exponentially.

This course is a must to meet Directors, Casting Directors and Agents, who all give wonderful insight into different ways of thinking...Book in you will not regret it.

~ Donna

TAFTA wasn't lying when they called it the National Actors INTENSIVE, but it was so worth it! It was wonderful to meet and work with so many different industry professionals, all of whom were incredibly willing to share their stories, tips and advice - something you really can't get anywhere else, and I'm so grateful to have experienced it! It was so inspiring to meet other actors from around Australia and to watch them work - such a great learning environment that I would definitely recommend to any actor (and would definitely look at doing again, myself!). It really was a challenge, but only in the best way!
