Abbie has always had a passion for personal finance, and founded her financial coaching practice ‘Free The Artist’ with the mission to liberate performers across the globe from the myth of the ‘Starving Artist’.

Outside of her financial nerdery, Abigail is a dynamic and versatile performer, most recently seen on stage in Nick Payne’s Constellations, and on screen in the Screen Australia funded web-series 2121, opposite Gary Sweet. She’s a sucker for an indoor plant, and believes that any budget with a ‘no latte’ rule is the worst sort of budget. “Viva la Coffee!”

PREPARATION:

As an actor - you are a business! You are a product that is contracted out to different production companies. Many actors reject this harsh reality, but what if we used it to our advantage?

In this interactive webinar, Abbie will take us through the intricacies of making your artist self a functioning business, and will cover treating your acting expenses and income like you’re a business, ways to make your artistry profitable so you don’t need to work that hospo or retail job, and how small changes in financial habits can reap huge benefits.

We are playing the long game, and financial stability allows us to stay focussed on the fun part - acting!

STRUCTURE:
This Q & A will begin with a webinar from Abbie, who will run through her methods of treating the actor like a business. At the end of the webinar there will be some time for questions! If you have any specific questions you would like us to ask Abbie, please email us at marketing@tafta.com.au
