ONL: Q&A with Craig Behenna (Mindfulness for the Actor)

  • TAFTA Productions Pty Ltd 60 Dawson Street Brunswick, VIC, 3056 Australia (map)

Craig is an actor, filmmaker and producer. His work has won Best Children's TV at Kidscreen New York, The Asian Television Awards, the AACTAs and the Jury Prize at Austin Film Festival. He’s also a certified coach who works with creatives, actors and executives in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Australia.

Craig sees that actors sometimes do, and often don’t, get the support they need on and off camera to keep themselves grounded and together. It can be easy to take on beliefs about yourself and your acting based on what other people in the industry say.

Craig also teaches meditation and mindfulness. His teachers include Thich Nhat Hanh and time as a resident at the Zen Center of Los Angeles.

In this session we’ll explore how a mindfulness practice can help you ground yourself and also separate from thoughts and feelings that might not be so helpful, and show you how you can have a relationship with them, rather than reacting to them.

As a coach, Craig Behenna helps you tune in and take steps toward living with your purpose. Bridge the gap of feeling from where you are to where you want to be, with compassion and understanding.

He clarifies confusion and help you identify and name those parts of your life, your inner dialogue, aspects of your self that are looking to grow, that are challenged. That want to be heard and to have their needs met.

“You may have felt a pull toward being something more. Perhaps you feel capable of more than you’re doing, or you’re feeling a call from what feels like a deeper self. Maybe you don’t quite trust that feeling; perhaps it’s difficult to believe it’s real. Or maybe you do trust that inner call but haven’t acted on it because you feel blocked in some area of your life.”

Craig focusses on turning that confusion into clarity.
