WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
This advanced screen acting course offers a practical, actor-focused approach to performance, drawing on Osamah's unique experience as an actor, writer, director and producer. Working across a range of genres and screen material, students will develop the tools needed to create truthful, compelling performances while gaining valuable insight into the collaborative nature of filmmaking.
Classes focus on scene comprehension, character development, given circumstances, stakes, and making strong, specific choices on screen. Students will work in both single and multi-camera setups, developing confidence and technical awareness in environments that mirror professional self-tape auditions and on-set experiences.

A unique aspect of Osamah's teaching approach is that the camera continues rolling throughout the feedback process, allowing actors to immediately apply direction in real time and later review the evolution of their work take by take. Students are encouraged to actively learn from one another's performances, developing the skills, professionalism and set etiquette expected of working actors. With a strong emphasis on collaboration, camera presence, and understanding storytelling from multiple perspectives, this course is designed to challenge actors to deepen their craft while gaining invaluable industry insight.

How to effectively break down and analyse a script
Identifying objectives, obstacles, stakes and character motivations

Developing stronger script interpretation and preparation techniques

ABOUT OSAMAH SAMI
Osamah Sami is an award-winning Australian actor, writer, comedian and TAFTA alumnus. He recently starred in the Sundance Film Festival Opening Night and Audience Award-winning film Shayda, earning his second AACTA Award nomination for Best Lead Actor.
He is also the co-writer and star of the Sydney Film Festival Audience Award-winning hit Australian romantic comedy Ali's Wedding. Osamah went on to play Salim Bayati in ABC's Savage River, created and starred in the ABC and Matchbox Pictures series House of Gods, and has also appeared in City Homicide, Jack Irish and Separated at Birth.
As a multi-hyphenate creative working across acting, writing and producing, Osamah brings a wealth of industry knowledge and a holistic understanding of storytelling to the classroom, offering actors invaluable insight into both performance and the realities of working in the screen industry.
