Deniz Akdeniz
Deniz Akdeniz is an Australian of Turkish descent. His family are from Izmir, Turkey. He started training at TAFTA and completing the Full Time Program in Melbourne. After coming to John with the audition of Homer in Tomorrow When the War Began, he got rejected. Though John urged his agent to submit him again as they hadn’t found anyone yet. On the second go he was offered the role and starred along side fellow TAFTA Alumni Chris Pang. Deniz and Chris would reunite 4 years later on the set of I’Frankenstein.
From there on Deniz would go on to star in many national and international projects. Most notably The Water Diviner, directed by Russel Crowe, Once Upon a Time, where he portrayed Aladdin, The Flight Attendant starring along side Kaley Cuoco. He also had guest appreances in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Code Black, S.W.A.T and Magnum P.I.
Deniz has also leant his voice to popular game franchises. He voiced Lionel Cocchiola in Battlefield 1, Wolf in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Neville Longbottom in Harry Potter: Magic Awakened.
