The changes in technology from the day I first walked on set to today are truly astounding, but one thing has remained a constant: the necessity for an actor to be able to showcase their wares - their showreel.

It’s not a science, but it is as vital a tool as your headshot and mobile phone, yet is treated by talent as a luxury.

A TAFTA showreel presents in a format that has been developed with the direct input of industry professionals, all of whom are time poor and only interested in satisfying themselves that as an actor, you know what you’re doing, and that you can
engage the viewer through the lens.

With no elaborate sets to hide behind, no costumes, no self-indulgent long winded diatribe, and not a montage in sight, you have no more than three minutes with which to grab the attention of agents, Casting Agents, Directors and the like.

Comprising a chat to camera, a scene and a monologue (minimum), contact details and credits (if applicable), your reel is shot entirely in house by one of our highly qualified technicians on either Sony or JVC HD cameras, edited and packaged in Final Cut Studio, and presented to you as a fully authored and interactive DVD with your current headshots incorporated into the menu and the DVD face. The reel is also converted to both SHOWCAST and AT2 file specifications,
which are sent to you electronically via email for direct upload to these sites.

Simple...yes...effective...absolutely.

I can’t promise that you’ll be shot to stardom overnight, no one can, but I can promise you an outcome that will assist you in putting your best foot forward as you continue your acting journey.

And please don’t be mistaken into thinking this is a sales pitch; if you’re not ready, we won’t be taking you on as our client... it’s as simple as that.
