TV Serials

This is a nine week course comprising of one night per week @ 3 hrs per night. This course deals with the special nature and requirements of television serial drama.
Naturalism, realism and melodrama, sincerity vs truth, induced energy, the reaction shot, the exit shot, the pause, continuity through narrative not character, contrivance (character function), the pause, the information scene, character discontinuity, emotional immediacy etc.
This short course is not for the beginner, but for those that have had some experience or have done some elementary courses in acting for the screen. The emphasis is no longer on just the visual concepts of performance, but deals with character contrivance and continuity of narrative and the performance of immediate emotional responses. |
