Improvisation is must and major skill in the modern film actor’s arsenal. Few movies are made without many, if not most, of the major scenes improvised by the cast and director. In this course of ten three hour sessions, participants will learn the skills and techniques vital for screen performance.

Marlon Brando, Merryl Streep, Robert DeNiro, Renee Zellweger, Edward Norton are testaments to their improv skills!

For the first time in Australia we are offering genuine American Improv classes as taught by the great American Masters with the emphasis being on its importance and how it all works for the screen.

This 10 SESSION course will explore many of the techniques taught in New York over the last century Students will work improvisationally with exercises devised by renowned US teachers – Uta Hagen, Sanford Meisner, Michael Chekov (not strictly an American), Michael Shurtleff and Penny Templeton (currently coach of Aussie Actress Sarah Wynter).
Each session will be 3hrs in duration

This course will focus on the renowned IMPROV techniques of these masters and their subsequent application to the modern screen.

The course will be conducted by Australian Actor/Teacher Mick Preston (a student of the great Uta Hagen), whose many NY & LA credits (Film, TV and Stage) include: Godzilla:Final Wars, Acting by Uta Hagen, El Camino, Paris, The Apartment, Accomplice, The Birthday Party, White Noise, Man of the People, Winter Grove and many more.
