TOM McSWEENEY - Casting Director

Tom McSweeney has been in the entertainment business for most of his life. Beginning as an actor at the age of eight, he went onto receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Directing in 1983. After college, he began teaching acting and performance at both the Kenneth C Beck Center for the Arts and the famed, Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, where he was the Director of Children's Theatre.

He began his career in casting in Los Angeles in 1987 and to date, has cast over 125-feature film and television movies, seven television series and pilot projects.
Since moving to Australia in 1998, Tom has been the Senior Casting Director at Warner Roadshow Movieworld Studios on the Gold Coast, casting three television series, and fifteen tele-movies and two pilots. In addition, he continues to teach acting and audition technique privately as well as across Australia.

BRUCE SHAPIRO - American Dialect Coach

"Bruce is the author of Speaking American: the Australian Actor's Guide to an American Dialect with CD (Currency Press, 2000). As the leading American dialogue coach in Australia, he has worked on over 30 productions. He was previously the Head of Performance and Acting at the Victorian College of Arts, School of Drama. He also taught and directed at the Aboriginal Center for the Performing Arts in Brisbane, the Academy of the Arts at the Queensland University of Technology and was for eight years the Artist-in-Residence and Lecturer in Acting, Directing, and Dramatic Literature at Tufts University in Boston. He is the author of numerous articles and two other books: Reinventing Drama: Acting, Iconicity, Performance (Greenwood, 1999) and Divine Madness and the Absurd Paradox; Ibsen's PEER GYNT and the Philosophy of Kierkegaard (Greenwood, 1990)."

JAN RUSS - Casting Director

Jan comes from an acting and teaching background. A professional actor from an early age and musical comedy star in the heyday of JC Williamson, Jan like all professional performers graduated to film and television learning and honing her craft in the real world of film and television productions. Her casting career began at Crawford Productions from where she moved to Grundy’s twenty years ago, casting television icons like “Prisoner” and “Neighbours” . For the latter she is also the Associate Producer.

Jan continues to conduct workshops and teach – especially At TAFTA.

JODIE BREARLEY (nee McKenna) - Casting Director

Jodie’s casting career began at Prototype in Sydney and from there she moved to Mulinars for several years casting TVC’s and the like. She moved to Faith Martin Casting and worked on several shows including the successful Water Rats. She moved to Melbourne four years ago to cast Blue Heelers. A job she has done with great success.

CAMERON HARRIS - Casting Director

Cameron’s professional casting career spans two decades and he has cast several shows ranging from Telemovies, TV Series ,Children’s Drama and Features including: Round the Twist lll, The Crash Zone, The Adventures of Lano & Woody, Blabbermouth & Sticky Beak . More recently he has cast Wicked Science 2, the Murray Whelan Series for Ch 7 and recently Court of Lonely Royals.

JOHN GAUCI - Director

John is a writer, Director, Producer and teacher. His forty years experience in almost all facets of the industry make him a man of immense knowledge. John has his own production company and his Casting Studio, LJ Promotions has seen many major national and international shows cast there, from McLeod’s Daughters to the US production of Salem’s Lot.

JO RIPPON - Casting Director

Like many others before her, Jo’s career began at Crawford’s where she worked extensively on many shows including Cop Shop. For the past twenty years Jo has been and independent Casting Director on shows such as, Ocean Girl (1& 2), Pirate Island, Wicked Science 1 and more recently Scooter Secret Agent.

David Man is an award winning director, writer and actor, as well as an experienced casting director and a highly respected teacher and coach.

Mr. Man was casting director for the CBS Daytime Drama "SEARCH FOR TOMORROW"
as well as Senior Staff Instructor at The Weist-Barron Television School in New York City.
He was Artistic Director of the NYC based ARTISTS' PRODUCTION ENSEMBLE and one

DAVID CAMERON

David graduated from Sydney’s National Institute of Dramatic Art to become a critically acclaimed stage and screen actor.  He was a core member of Sydney’s PERFORMANCE SYNDICATE and appeared on stage in Australia’s major Theatre Companies.  David’s acting film credits include MAD MAX and MY FIRST WIFE and numerous leading television roles including his multi award-winning role as ‘Neil’ in the mini-series WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE.
        
David’s stage directing career began as the Musical Director for the stage production, PERICLES at The Victorian College of the Arts.  He went on to direct David Mamet’s, A LIFE IN THE THEATRE for the Playbox Theatre Company.  

David’s Television and film directing career began with the D-GENERATION rock-clips.  Since then, he has been directing Television Drama, Television Commercials and Corporate Documentaries, specialising in the art of performance and stylistic story-telling.
